Spacey Trip To Quincyco's Studio

~ Home ~

Well, as you know Quincy has started holding open torch in her studio. Wendyki, Soupy, and I went, and boy did we have a blast!!!! Just look for yourself!

Here's Sue and I picking up Wendy at her house in Ripon.

I know she's a little hard to see, but Wendy was so excited, she was upside down with joy!

We took a few unexpected twists, and stopped at a wonderful Carneceria. Wendy and I were drooling so badly when we saw the barbecue pits outside the little Mexican store, Sue HAD to turn around! Yummmmmy chicken, tortillas, and salsa!

Riding there and back with Sue as our pilot was a fun, not to mention eventful, journey. We got to Quincy's at 1:00 instead of noon, but we were there and alive!

~ I, Sue, MUST interject here! Now Mona, I didn't drive THAT bad!
I stopped at stop signs when you told me to, even when there weren't any cars coming!

Quincy and Kelly greeted us with a nice display of goodies. Fresh bakery brownies and white chocolate macadamia cookies, jasmine green tea. We added my strawberries, Wendy's pepperoni and cheese tray, and Sues TODIEFOR caramel corn!!!

We got to meet her grand daughter Serina, who was a total sweetie with her own eBay sales of neopets.

We got to meet Quincy's mom and five wonderfully happy dogs

And Wendy just about fell off her stool when we met Quincy's handsome son.

We torched a lot, My twins got burned, and we all learned about eachother's unique style. Some upside down, some in a whirlwind, but all torched with creativity and I can't wait to see the beads come out of the kiln.

We torched for eight hours!!! It made me so thirsty, I must have had a gallon to drink! See the milk running down my face?!

Well, we got hungry and Quincy served a fantastic, fresh, Chinese Chicken Salad, Tomato, Artichoke, and Mexican cheese salad, and sliced sourdough.

We really had a fantastic time. Quincy said it was the best ever! We were sorry that Cynthia (glassatcc) didn't come by, but we all fondled her beads SEVERAL times. Sorry Hayley didn't make it. It was a pleasure meating Kelly, who taught us a beautiful silver green and iris orange stringer recipe. Quincy is such a considerate host.

We all made wonderful, wonderful beads and really challenged ourselves. You really need to take advantage of her next open torch day. You won't be disappointed!!!

Thanks Quincy, really, an enormous hug goes out to you from these three country mountain, sierra foothill gals!
Mona

~ Thank you Mona for such a great write-up!

The only time I remembered to take a picture at Quincy's house was when I got this one:

There is one more dog sitting right behind Quincy. Do you think that chicken she was cutting up smelled good? They were all actually quite well behaved.

And Wendy took a picture at Quincy's house.

And I had to respond to THIS picture with:
Wendy! If I'd know you were going to take our picture like that, I'd have sucked in my stomach and put on a girdle and lost 10 lbs first. LOL

Then Quincy took pictures of our beads.

All of the beads the five of us made:
Kelly's . . . . .
Mona's . . . . .
Quincy's . . . . .
Wendy's . . . . .
Mine . . . . .
